My Educational Philosophy Statement: My goal is to create a safe, loving environment where students develop a deep love of learning. I believe in educating the whole child through modeling and direct instruction of social and emotional skills. It is critical for students to take ownership of their learning through student-led learning and discovery.
My Background Information: I am beginning my seventh year of teaching and third year at Kipps! I graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education and English in 2012. I also student taught at Kipps from 2011-2012. I live in Floyd County with my husband, our little girl Maizey, and our three dogs, Xena, Champion, and Primo. For fun, my husband and I enjoy being outdoors and traveling. Some of my favorite activities include hiking, canoeing, running, yoga, fishing, and golfing. I also LOVE to cook!
